HISTORY:
Built in c. 1780 by the Coppinger Family, Rock Abbey is set in mature landscaping and retains much of its larger and imposing form, typical of domestic architecture of that time.
The Coppinger Family held significant Estates in Co. Cork, and were descendents of Stephen Coppinger, Mayor of Cork who died in 1600. It was subsequently occupied by the Usher and Russell families, the present owners having bought it in 1950s.
